Hyvä Portal Overview

The Hyvä Portal is your personal and team-based account area at hyva.io. You can register for free to access:

  • Your personal and team licenses
  • Order history
  • Certification details
  • Company information (if part of an agency partner)

User Roles and License Ownership

There are two main contexts for using the Hyvä Portal:

  1. License Ownership (doesn’t have to be part of a team)
  2. Agency Team Members (part of an agency partner team)

License Ownership

Regardless of your role or team affiliation, any registered user can own a license. This means:

  • You do not need to belong to a team to buy or manage a license.
  • If you are in a team, you can still personally own licenses. Every license is attached to a single customer account..

Only license owners can perform actions such as:

  • Transferring licenses
  • Changing the license domain
  • Renewing licenses
  • Cancelling automated renewals
  • Upgrading to Hyvä Commerce

Agency team members

If your company is a Hyvä partner, you’ll be added to a team with one of the following roles:

Members:

  • Same access as individual users
  • Additional visibility:
    • Licenses owned by other team members
    • View verified user status

Managers

  • All member access, plus the ability to manage the team:
    • Invite/remove team members
    • Assign roles (Member or Manager)
    • Update the Company Description

Only Managers can update company info, manage the team, and initiate access to support.

Email Verification (Team Features)

To access team features, your email must be verified. On the Dashboard and on the Hyvä Licenses page, you will find links to trigger a verification email. The process is as follows:

  1. You click the link to trigger a validation email. You can find the link on the dashboard and on the "Hyvä Licenses" page if you are part of a partner company.
  2. We send an automated email to you
  3. If you click the link in the email, we will validate your email address.

After validation, you will have access to the restricted team functionalities.

Combining Roles: License Owner + Team Member/Manager

You can be a license owner and a team member or manager at the same time.

  • Your ability to manage a license (renew, transfer, upgrade) depends on ownership, not your team role.
  • Your access to team functionality (like viewing shared licenses or managing the company profile) depends on your team role.
  • Team managers can own personal licenses, see team licenses, and manage team settings — all at once.

Sections

Please find a description of the sections of the Hyvä Portal below.

Dashboard

The start page contains information about:

  • Overview of your licenses (or your team’s if applicable)
  • Recent orders and personal details
  • Your default billing address
  • Your certifications (or instructions to add them))
  • Team info (if applicable)
  • Hyvä Partnership Information (for managers only)

Hyvä Licenses

This page shows:

  • All licenses you own
  • If you belong to a team: All licenses belonging to other team members

You can view the following information for all of these licenses by clicking on the domain name:

  • See licensed products (i.e. Hyvä Theme, Hyvä Commerce)
  • View credentials and how you can access the code by clicking "Show Composer Credentials"
  • See expiration date
  • See whether auto-renewal is activated

As an owner of a license, you will have additional options:

Transfer license

You can transfer all licenses for a single domain to another person. Please note:

  • The recipient must be registered in the Hyvä Portal too
  • You must enter their email address
  • The transfer will take effect immediately
  • The sender and the recipient will receive an automated email about the details of the transferred license
  • If the recipient doesn't belong to your team, you won't have access to the license any more.
  • The credentials will not change automatically, the new owner can use the existing credentials. Contact us if you'd like the credentials changed.
  • Only the owner of the domain can transfer it.
  • If the owner's account isn't accessible anymore, please send us a message so we can transfer it to another user within the same company.

Change domain

You can request a domain change by clicking "Edit domain".

  • The request will be reviewed by the Hyvä team
  • On approval, you will get an email with a confirmation
  • The credentials will not change automatically, you can continue using the existing credentials.
  • Only the owner of a license can change its domain. See "Transfer license" above for how to transfer it.

Renew license

If a license is about to expire in the next 60 days or is already expired, the button "Renew License" will appear. If you click it, a window will open where you can select the new license period and see costs and new expiration date. The next steps are:

  • Add the renewal to the cart by clicking the "Add to cart" button in the window
  • Finish checkout, using your preferred payment method
  • You will receive an order confirmation and the invoice via Email

Please note: if automated renewal is activated, you cannot renew the license manually, except by first cancelling the auto-renewing option.

Only the owner of a license can renew it. See "Transfer license" above for how to transfer it.

Cancel automated renewal

If you chose "automated renewal" when ordering / renewing the license, the license will be renewed automatically every year, using the same payment method (i.e. credit card or PayPal). You can stop the automated renewal process any time by clicking "Cancel" and confirming the cancellation.

Only the owner of a license can cancel automated renewal. See "Transfer license" above for how to transfer it.

Trade-in license and upgrade to Hyvä Commerce

You can click "Upgrade to Hyvä Commerce" in order to trade-in your existing license(s) for a Hyvä Commerce license. On clicking the button, the upgrade will be added to your cart. After that, you can finish checkout in order to upgrade.

Only the owner of a license can trade in an existing license. See "Transfer license" above for how to transfer it.

My Orders

Here you find a list of all orders you issued in the past including details about:

  • Order status
  • Order date
  • Billing address
  • Ordered licenses / products

Team Members (managers only)

This is where you define who is part of your team and which roles they have.
Please see the “Member Types” section above for what each role (manager / member) can and cannot do.
Please note that everyone who registers with your company’s email domain (see “Company Description” below) join the team automatically.

Invite Team Members

If you click the “Invite Team Members” button, a window will open where you can enter the name, email address and role of the person(s) to invite.

  • They will receive an email with a link.
  • After they click the link, they should create an account on the Hyvä Portal without visiting any other pages in between.
  • They will become members of the team immediately after registration.
  • Their email address is already validated as they clicked the link in the email.

Change role of existing members

As a manager, you can change everyone else’s role.

  • If you make someone else a manager, they can then edit the team and manage the company description too.
  • If you make another manager a member, they stay part of the team but cannot manage the team or the company description any more.

Change whether team members receive emails

Additionally to the owner of a license, everyone who has the “Receives emails” checkbox checked will receive the following emails as well:

  • License renewal announcements for licenses owned by any team members
  • Credential emails for new licenses bought by any team members

Remove from team

If you click the “Remove” button and confirm the security question, you will remove another member from the team. This means that they cannot use any of the team functionalities in the Hyvä Portal any more.
If they own any licenses, you will lose access to these licenses.
Remove someone from a team doesn’t delete the customer account. It also doesn’t revoke access to the Hyvä Slack or to the Hyvä GitLab.

Company Description (managers only)

As an Agency Manager in the Hyvä Portal, you can update your agency’s public profile, which is displayed on both the Find an Agency and Preferred Partners pages.

In the Company Description section, you can manage the following details:

  • Company Name
  • Company Logo (SVG only)
  • Company URL
  • Email Domains (new customers with one of these domains will join the team automatically after their email address has been verified - see the “Verified users” section above)
  • Brand Colour
  • Description

Once you've made your updates, click “Submit Changes” to save them.

Note: All updates are subject to a brief review to ensure quality and consistency across the platform before they go live. You will receive an email when your requested changes have been accepted.

If you don’t see the option to edit, make sure you have the Manager role assigned to your account. If not, please contact your agency’s designated Manager to request access.

Account Information

In this section, you can:

  • Edit your name
  • Set your Credly URL (see below)
  • Edit your job title
  • Change your password

Please follow this process for connecting your Hyvä certifications to the Hyvä Portal:

  1. If you earned a Hyvä certification, you will have received an email from Credly, asking you to accept your badge
  2. Follow the instructions and create an account at credly.com
  3. Login to your credly.com account
  4. Go to your Profile page (i.e. using the context menu on the top right of the page)
  5. Copy the URL of your profile page (i.e. https://www.credly.com/users/john-doe.123456/edit)
  6. Paste it into the "Credly URL" field in the "Account Information" section of the Hyvä Portal and save it.
  7. We will retrieve your badges from Credly so they will be displayed on the Dashboard after a short time.

Address Book

In the Address Book, you can create and edit your company addresses as well as set a primary billing address. Please note that you can also set a primary shipping address - this won't be used at this time as we don't ship physical products.

Access to Technical Support

Use this form to request access to our Slack for the main technical person in your team only.
Please note that existing Slack members can invite their colleagues themselves. You don't have to fill this form for every single developer. That’s also why only managers can view this form.
