Hyvä Portal Overview
The Hyvä Portal is your personal and team-based account area at hyva.io. Register for free to manage your commercial and open source licenses, view order history, track certifications, and get technical support. It's your hub for everything Hyvä—whether you're a solo developer or part of an agency partner team.
Understanding User Roles and License Ownership
The Hyvä Portal works with two core concepts: who owns a license and what team role you have. These are independent—you might own one license while being a team member on another account. Let's break down how each works.
License Ownership
Any registered user can own a license, regardless of team membership. License ownership is what matters for making changes to a license. Only the owner can:
- Transfer the license to another person
- Change the license domain
- Renew the license
- Cancel automated renewal
- Upgrade to Hyvä Commerce
You don't need to belong to a team to own or manage a license. If you're in a team, you can still personally own licenses—every license is attached to a single customer account.
Agency Team Roles
If your company is a Hyvä partner, you'll be added to a team. Team roles determine what you can see and do within team settings.
Members have access to:
- Their own licenses and personal information
- Licenses owned by other team members (visibility)
- Verified email status of team members
Managers have all member access, plus:
- Ability to invite and remove team members
- Power to assign roles (upgrade members to managers, or demote managers to members)
- Control over the company description and profile
- Authority to manage technical support access
Only managers can update company information, manage team membership, and initiate support requests for paid licenses.
Combining Roles: Owner and Team Member
You can be both a license owner and a team member (or manager) at the same time. Your license management abilities depend on ownership, while your team management abilities depend on your team role. For example, a team manager might own personal licenses, see team licenses, and manage company settings all at once.
Email Verification for Team Access
To use team features, your email address must be verified if you haven't been added by your team manager(s). You'll find verification links on the Dashboard and the Hyvä Licenses pages.
Here's how verification works:
- Click the verification link (available on the Dashboard or Hyvä Licenses page)
- Hyvä sends you an automated email with a confirmation link
- Click the link in the email to validate your address
- After validation, you unlock all restricted team features
Portal Sections
Each section of the Hyvä Portal serves a specific purpose:
- Dashboard - Overview of your account, licenses, and certifications
- Hyvä Licenses - Manage licenses, transfer, renew, and upgrade
- My Orders - View your order history
- Partner Page Entry - Update your agency profile on the partner listing (managers only)
- My Agency - Configure your account type and agency relationship
- My Clients - Manage client relationships and invitations (managers only)
- Team Members - Manage team membership and roles (managers only)
- Company Description - Update your agency profile (managers only)
- Account Information - Personal settings and certifications
- Address Book - Manage company addresses and billing
- Technical Support - Get help and access support options
