Common questions about Hyvä Commerce. More entries will be added over time.
Do I need to install the full Hyvä Commerce bundle, or can I install only some features?
Both work. The Hyvä Commerce metapackage (hyva-themes/commerce) installs every feature at once and is the recommended path. To install a single feature instead, follow that feature's installation page under the Features section. Each feature is its own module, so you can start with one and add the rest whenever you need them.
Do I have to use every Hyvä Commerce feature?
No. The features are independent, so you can use the ones that fit your project and leave the rest. For example, Hyvä CMS is applied per content entity, and the Admin Theme can be switched back to a standard Magento admin theme in configuration.
Can I keep using the default Magento admin theme?
Yes. The Hyvä Commerce Admin Theme is optional. You can skip installing it, or switch to another admin theme in configuration. Its tech stack matches the default Magento admin theme (LESS, RequireJS, Knockout), so existing admin extensions keep working.
Which Magento versions and platforms does Hyvä Commerce support?
Hyvä Commerce runs on Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce 2.4.4 or later, both Cloud and On-Premise, with PHP 8.1 or later. Mage-OS should work as well, though it is not part of our internal testing yet. Adobe Commerce, B2B, and additional-services feature compatibility still requires a Hyvä Enterprise license. Where are the Hyvä Commerce configuration settings in the Magento admin?
Hyvä Commerce feature settings (Hyvä CMS, Media Optimization, Image Editor, Admin Dashboard, and more) are grouped under Stores → Settings → Configuration → Hyvä Commerce. In earlier releases these settings lived under the Hyvä Themes section. Only the admin menu location changed: the settings and their configuration paths are unchanged, so nothing needs to be reconfigured.
