Common questions about Adobe Commerce support, turning the merchandiser off, admin permissions, configuration scope, and per-admin preferences.
Does Category Merchandiser work with Adobe Commerce?
Yes, but it requires a Hyvä Enterprise license. See Adobe Commerce Support for further details.
Can I go back to Magento's default product grid?
Yes. Set Enable Visual Merchandiser to No and the "Products in Category" section falls back to Magento's own default grid. See Configuration.
Do admin users need an extra permission to use it?
No. Category Merchandiser uses the existing Magento_Catalog::categories permission that already governs managing categories. Anyone who can edit a category can use the merchandiser.
Can I configure products differently per website or store view?
No. To remain aligned with the database structure of Magento Open Source/Adobe Commerce, Category Merchandiser's product inclusion and ordering is managed only at the default (global) scope. However, product status, visibility, and price shown in the grid do respect the store view currently selected on the category page for an accurate representation of how the products will appear on the storefront.
If I change my personal settings, does that affect other admin users?
No. Grid columns, page size, minimum search length, add-to-top-or-bottom, and the search inclusion options changed within the toolbar of the category edit page can each be overridden per admin user. Your overrides are remembered the next time you open the merchandiser and leave both the site-wide defaults and other users' preferences untouched. See Configuration for more details.
Will I lose changes if I navigate away without saving?
Category Merchandiser warns you before you leave the page with unsaved changes, so you can go back and save first.
Does Category Merchandiser support rule-based product inclusion?
At this time, no. But including products based on rules (e.g. price and other attribute values), with the ability to manually pin selected products, is planned for a future release. See our Roadmap for more details.
